flea, I'm so glad the electrical was not a problem for me. Whoever renovated my house kept it mostly to code, even if it doesn't always make sense. They just skimped on other things, like installing ceiling fans using only a light box.
I hope the project isn't too time-consuming and disruptive.
Burrell, the improvements will happen, even if it isn't all at once. I'm excited to see what you do with your kitchen.
Steph, that costume sounds perfect for Tim. (Pics or it didn't happen.)
Heat wave over here, as well. 67 degrees, rainy, and we have a flash flood warning until 6 pm.
I just want to go to bed and sleep off the cold that is brewing, but money.
Just make sure to breathe heavily (if not sneeze near) any evil overlords.
I started walking a friend's dog three days a week, midday, for a little pocket cash. Today was the first walk that wasn't unbearably hot but it had to happen during the heaviest part of today's storms resulting in me getting as drenched as if I'd taken a shower in my clothes. Good times! At least the dog isn't afraid of storms.
It's 80 and raining and humid. I'm happy for the rain, the rest, less so.
In my old house, the smoke alarms and sprinkler system were hardwired. Removing the battery and/or removing the entire alarm set the whole thing to shrieking.
Oh, good grief, I'd lose my mind and tear it all out with a crowbar if that mess started beeping at midnight. Thank you for mentioning that; now I know something else to look out for if I ever go looking to buy another older home.
Speaking of wanting to curl up and cry and hide, I just had a somewhat distressing doctor appointment. Details not important, just, left me crying and seeking comfort food. I'm supposed to go meet some new people for fun and gaming in an hour, and I don't want to go. I will go; hopefully I'll relax and enjoy it once I'm there, and if I don't I can always come home. I just feel kinda awful right now.
I'm so sorry, Zen. I hope the fun times you have planned are actually fun and the distress is not a lasting thing.
I am fire extinguisher trained, woohoo! Not as thorough a session as my dad's courses, but we did get to point a (not exactly kosher) fire extinguisher at a real (if remote controlled) fire. And we weren't outside long enough for the heat to be unbearable, even with an actual fire. Mmm, air conditioning.

Aw, man. Maria and Zen, I'm sorry that everything is awful and/or bullshit.
I'm forcing myself to work on my annual review because I am a grown up and this too shall pass. What do I do well? I don't know, man! Maybe I should just copy and paste the lyrics to Once In A Lifetime in that box.
Aw, zen. I hope the new people and games are restoring.

This IS my beautiful house
Thanks, guys. Things aren't awful, not really. Just, you know, a couple things kinda suck right now.
Where IS my large automobile?
