Bag of sun chips has me feeling a bit more charitable towards my fellow humans.
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I made egg drop soup because I'm feeling a little under the weather, and it makes me feel better (at least mentally), and I'm always amazed that it's SO EASY to make. I retroactively regret all the years I got carryout egg drop soup from the cheap Chinese place.
I've been cajoling Franny through an Emergency Planning poster assignment all day and my brain is zapped, but luckily DH has taken the kids to the local pool for one last jump off the spring board before the pools close. And a bit of needed quiet for me. I love being a mother, but I desperately need to be a little less needed.
How do you make the broth, Steph?
How do you make the broth, Steph?
There are gluten-free, vegan bouillon cubes that make "chicken" broth that, for real, taste JUST LIKE chicken broth. I have no idea how they do it, though I suspect dark magics were involved.
A dove is sitting on my rail, staring at me. Honestly, a little creepily.
Swam at Druid. Predictably a little more chaotic because Labor Day + last day of the season, but I really REALLY zoned out.which I needed, I'm sorta in the midst of a whelmed-down-on-myself funk. It'll pass, I just need to break out of my paralysis on a number of stuck things.
That reminds me, I emailed a counseling place in between my work and home, which seems like a good compromise, location-wise, but I'm vaguely afraid my boss goes there! At least, she has a weekly appointment in that direction. Which is a commercial district, so it literally could be any place else.
Home again home again. That wasn't too bad, worked less than 7 hours and got a free lunch. Testing mostly went well, too.
Got home and the gate to my backyard was open, so I panicked about how far Walter may have gotten. I don't know what to do about that gate, I don't understand why the angle at which the doors come together has changed, it's the opposite of what I am used to from aging doors, but I eventually got it closed and when I came inside Walter was in the living room rather than roaming the streets, hooray!
So do not want to do anything but watch TV now.
Good call, Walter!
He's a good boy. Also getting old and sleeps much of the day. Which I encourage.
