I'm so sorry, Juliebird. That's an awful situation to be in--where someone is causing pain but you know they aren't dong it on purpose and can't really control it, but, still, pain.
new milestone, Mac just said Fuck You to me and has also flipped me off.
not a proud moment and I slapped him, so double not proud.
I think you should be proud of your restraint. If I'd ever done that to my Mom I'd be posting via Ouija board instead of keyboard.
My dad slapped me when I called him an ass. (It started out asshole, but I stopped myself, but it was still kind of there. )
I've never sworn at my parents or siblings. My dad swore at me once, when he called me a son of a bitch. I was tempted to say, "That's not a nice thing to say about Mom," but I didn't.
I've never sworn at my parents or brother in anger. But we are a VERY profane family, so there have been many instances where some jackassery is met with "Asshat!" and the like.
Also, my mom picked up the phrase "bag of dicks" from me (as in "I thought he would be a good yoga teacher, but he turned out to be a big of dicks"), which amuses me endlessly.
Timelies all!
Went to services this morning as Gary and his dad had honors.(Gary because of the little guy, Gary's dad because of his upcoming 75th birthday.)
Nice, Sheryl!
I tried as new "grain free hot cereal" recipe for breakfast this morning. Tasted pretty good and three hours later I'm not hungry, so I think it's a keeper. And fast and easy - 2 T chia seeds, 2 T flax seed meal, 1/3 c hot water stirred together, add whatever you like to add to hot cereal.
Incidentally - I'm not poisoning myself by not keeping my flax seed meal in the fridge, am I? I mean, it's there now but it hasn't been for who knows how long. I am bad at judging rancidness, but if there was any it was pretty mild I think.
On the edge of giving myself permission to not finish the front yard today. Just seems like more of a Sunday thing to me (despite the fact that I am pretty sure no one else in my cul-de-sac is Jewish I feel like if I'm going to do work on Saturday it shouldn't be publicly visible. Not earth logic, I know, but it's apparently mine) and sitting on the couch reading is awfully attractive.

I always heard that you were supposed to keep it in the fridge. But now I can't remember where I heard that.
I know you are supposed to, it actually says so on the label, what I can't remember if it goes bad in a way that could actually hurt me, or just would taste bad. I certainly feel fine and it didn't even taste off (to my what's-the-opposite-of-supertaster? taste buds, anyway) so I'm not really worried, but tossing the half a bag I have left and buying new might be worthwhile if there's really risk.
I just successfully vacuum-sealed (ish, but good enough) my leftover cheesecake into a ziplock bag using a straw. I am a genius.
I'm sure I am not the first person to think of it, but I really am pretty proud of my ingenuity.
