Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Change can be good. Google's new logo is terrible.

In our old house-converted-to-bad-apartments, the sketchy neighbors knocked on our door one day to ask Hubby if he might have a fire extinguisher. Hubby, the old fire-fighting warhorse, asked if he could help, but they were adamant about no one coming into their place. When the neighbors finally left/disappeared, there were burn spots in the ceiling above the kitchen and bathroom sinks. I never smelled anything weird, but the neighbors sure did the stereotypical physical decline of meth users.

Google's new logo looks childish. It makes me think of first graders.

In twelve year old news, I just got Casper through the problem of finding her leotard (through escalating texts and a teary phone call). I think she found it in her dance bag, which was of course the first place I told her to look. Now we wait and see if she manages to catch the city bus and get to class all by herself. mr. flea is standing by at work in case he has to go rescue her by car.

She's a darling, sensible girl, but still TWELVE.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

heh ... we've been having a good deal of publicity recently because a couple of parents allowed their children (aged ... six and ten, I believe) to walk to or from the local park. Someone saw them walking alone and called the police, who reported the parents to CPS. A couple of weeks later, the children were again seen walking alone, so they were picked up by the police and held for FIVE HOURS in a car, not allowed to call their parents, not allowed to use the bathroom, not given water or anything. And CPS was investigating the parents.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I think Mac has finally caught on to the advantages of cleaning out his room. Just went shopping this weekend, he got 3 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of shoes, and a jacket. He has pulled out 1 pair of shoes and 5 shirts to get rid of.

Now I need to do the same.

Yeah, Casper is 5'3" and it's a 5 minute bus ride in the university district, so I think she will not be harassed by CPS. This is her first solo public bus ride. mr. flea and I have texted each other 20 times already.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw! She'll do great. (Even if not today.)

FWIW, I took the public bus alone when I was 7.

I deliberately did not look in your direction!

I know! I just have to sit on my hands and not say anything.

She made it! I am so proud.

Go Casper!
