Love my feathered dinosaur buddies (as long as they stay outside and do not actively try to spear me or pounce on me with their talons (will never forget how a Golden Eagle awakened my inner tiny shrew-like mammal ready to find a hole to hide in) and will happily continue the sugar and seed offerings (suet in the non-melty season).

I still have no real solution to the How Do I Get Enough Sleep problem.

Yeah, I had to get up at 5:30am this morning and I didn't go to bed at 9:30 like I should have because I was too busy doing vacation prep. Them beets needed roasting! Probably not as much as I needed sleep, though.

Mmm, beets.

I like the bird noise. Human noise, not so much.

I stayed up way too late, again, but not working or reading this time, no, I was playing a video game. How old am I?

Also, going to bed at 8 makes for a more restful morning the next day but I just can't do that every day so I still have no real solution to the How Do I Get Enough Sleep problem.

Yeah, my cousin's husband was saying 8pm bedtime is his new thing, and it's working pretty well. I just can't do it! I'm trying to aim for before 10, at least.

I think I need to just quit talking about bikes with this one Facebook friend of mine. He posted something about how Paris is going car-free for a few days. I said that looked cool, but wondered whether there would still be buses, since Paris's subway system has terrible accessibility, and so, without buses, a lot of people with disabilities would have trouble getting around. He responded, "Yes, Hillary, #AllLivesMatter." Fuck that.

I have my phone remind me that's it's 8 pm, so I can start moving towards bed. Of course, these days, odds are I'm already there. Much sleepy. So tired.

This is the same guy who once accused me of being "just like those people who say that women who were raped deserved it because of what they were wearing" when I commented that cyclists in the place where I used to live were often college students who hadn't really ridden their bikes since they were kids riding on sidewalks or suburban side streets, but then got to college and realized they needed bikes to get to class on time, and didn't really know how to ride safely in traffic, since they'd never needed to know before.
