You know, my big sister could really beat the crap out of her. I mean, really really.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Way to go, Consuela!

I read someone earnestly arguing that the people who registered for Ashley Madison using their work email addresses HAD TO use those addresses, because their spouses probably monitor their personal email. Okey dokey then.

Finally, I am frequently amazed how authors of huge long complicated articles with a ton of editorial changes have NO problem with the changes and are a delight to work with, while authors of 2-page editorials (i.e., no hard data, no tables, no figures) are the biggest pains in the ass EVER about their papers.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Congrats, Consuela! Long overdue!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Thanks everyone for the support and reassurance.

Burrell, I have no advice on the math tracking, but if F being in the "normal" track at a gifted school is going to cause issues down the road for college (acceptance), then we collectively need to rethink what the hell we are doing to our children via the educational system. Challenging them is great; demoralizing them? NSM.

I have lots of opinions on the subject, as you might have guessed. But yes.

Congratulations Consuela!

Congratulations, Consuela!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Waiting for my periodontist to hopefully give me the go ahead to get my permanent crown. Last night I dreamt he te me to get a root canal, hope it wasn't prophetic.

We need pictures of your swanky apartment.

It's not terribly swanky right now, but eventually it'll get there!

Which for some reason I initially typed as "a couch and Abed".

It's funny you should say that, because my wifi network name is Troy and Abed in a Cable Modem.

And now I shall venture outside for Thai.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I read someone earnestly arguing that the people who registered for Ashley Madison using their work email addresses HAD TO use those addresses, because their spouses probably monitor their personal email.

Well, duh. What do you expect them to do, just not sign up?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And clearly, you're only allowed one email address at home and one at work, so what else are you going to do?

Man, people are idiots.
