Don't forget to check your inventory! And make the movers reassemble everything they disassembled.
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And now the fire alarm is going off in our building. We are standing by the stairs ready to evacuate.
False alarm. Back to work.
Timelies all!
Toured the second on-campus child care center. Tomorrow I tour the center that is off-campus. Of course, there's no telling how long it will be before a spot opens up at any of the three(in fact, the one I visited today said they have no openings) so we're looking at other local child care centers. Hope we can find an opening soon, as neither Gary nor I want to use up all our leave for this.
Good luck, Sheryl! I hope something good is available.
You too, shrift - best wishes for a pleasant and easy unloading and unpacking experience.
Don't forget to check your inventory! And make the movers reassemble everything they disassembled.
I WOULD IF THEY WERE ACTUALLY COMING TODAY FOR FUCK'S SAKE
Maybe by the time I get to work I won't want to punch anyone in the face? I guess we'll see.
Wait they were supposed to come today and aren't?? Boo!!!
Aaaaallll these aggravations will pass. They will pass and be replaced by exciting new aggravations!
That's not real helpful, is it.
I'm adding vodka to this coke. It's better than punching people in the face. Less painful, anyway.
Dr. Snowflake is now being all conciliatory and helpful, now that we've caved and given him what he wanted! Oh, you can leave out this part of the correction, since it wasn't really wrong! No, it wasn't wrong at all, jerkface, you just didn't think it was *pretty* enough.
To clarify, we haven't given him the heads-on-pikes he wanted, but we have given him the exact wording he wanted, which I objected to doing, because "we regret the error" is standard wording and should have been enough, and I don't want to set this precedent for letting authors whine and stomp and piss on us. Errata are supposed to be written by the publication, not the authors. He got what he wanted because Big!Boss didn't want to deal with it; she just said, we messed up so give him what he wants, without looking at what he wanted.
I'm trying not to give a crap, but I'm failing at that. I'd be so much calmer in my life if I could achieve the nirvana of not giving a fuck.
Bosses seem to be on a roll today. We have visitors on site today for a tour, I was asked to do their safety talk before they can tour. No problem. I do it, they are taken from my office and given the outside your and then taken to everyone's desk EXCEPT MINE, and told the role and responsibilities of that person. Nice.
The move coordinator told me delivery would be today. After I pinged her this morning to ask when they'd show up with the truck, she said sorry for the confusion and that they're arriving between 10-2 tomorrow. So now I'm on a shuttle to the office.
The air bed is already put away and I doubt I'll bother to pull it out again, so I suspect I'll be sleeping in the grumpiest blanket fort tonight.
