And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ugh Dana, what a mess.

I had a "eat a freaking muffin, whitey" moment today in Zaro's when I noticed they had a row of sugar-crusted sweet bagels next to the croissants and muffins (and away from the respectably savory bagels). I would have taken a picture but I was groggy and a little hungover, so...

That sucks, Dana. I'm sorry. But I'm also glad he is out of a miserable job.

Glad to hear it, Sheryl!

I thought maybe some fruit juice might make me feel better, but I don't have enough money for the juice in our vending machine. I only have enough for Gatorade and that does not appeal. I am complaining mostly because I am appalled that juice is more expensive than Gatorade.

Can other people sign up for this service?

Of course! I know I've seen your dishes but I don't remember, what do you have?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That sucks, Dana. I hope he finds something with a sane boss soon.

Sweet bagels??? So wrong.

Dana that sucks but hopefully it'll mean he finds a better less evil job/boss.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That sucks, Dana. I hope he finds something with a sane boss soon.

What Ginger said.

I'm sorry, Dana.

The people running communications for the maryland Ys seem to be dumb as posts.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

shrift, perhaps I should warn you that since I know what dishes you have I may randomly pick up coordinating tableware if I see it available.

CONSIDERING that I was planning to order more of the same dishes and maybe get some pasta bowls as well, I would welcome any coordinating tableware you find and wouldn't throw it out when you weren't looking. Also, thank you!

The little guy is doing great, gaining weight on schedule and all.

Go you, baby boy!

But personally, it stings.

I'm certain they'll regret firing him. But at least he doesn't have to go to that miserable place anymore.

Jeez, the anual blood drive is next Thursday, which is also the day of our "Operations Appreciation" event where we're all going to Scandia for most of the day, so I tried to schedule a late afternoon (well, 3pm) appointment to give blood and everything after 2:30 was already taken. 7 minutes after the blood drive email went out. Seven minutes.

information libertarian

We are both having work crisis time in my household as well. Because he is a federal employee, mr. flea is fairly unlikely to be fired, but he hates everything at work so much right now I'm afraid he'll quit. Quit his "dream job" that we moved to Ohio for. ARGH.

My crisis is more "I am bored and considered a cog rather than a valued employee, plus underpaid of course" but my big issue is I am having so much trouble running a family and working full-time. I simply don't have enough energy at the end of the day to manage the emotions of everyone in my family (about to be 12, going to high school, hormones; 9, stubborn as fuck and makes brushing teeth into an hour long fight every night; 46, stubborn as fuck and wants to complain about work nonstop) as well as do the things that need doing like feeding and clothing everyone.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Ugh, Dana.

So the thing I long feared would happen finally has. Yesterday I forgot that I drove to work and took the bus home. Oops. I wonder if I can get an entry ticket on foot and avoid a $48 stupidity tax.

The house two doors down from us was sold to a 27 year old single man who offered 600K all cash. We were trying to figure out why he wanted to live in our neighborhood (which is full of families and kids).

Witness protection!
