Laura, I'm so sorry for your loss and the next years of missing her. And I'm so happy for you that you had a wonderful mother who lived so will and long.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Laura. Peace.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. I'm pretty much okay until someone starts crying, in particular my step-dad or DH. She didn't suffer and had a lovely day with her family with no indication of any issue the day before. We know how blessed we are that we had her in our lives for so many years.
Also, I told her I was really unhappy with her for not getting her absentee ballot completed. Now my brother and I are in competition for finding it since we both were accomplished experts at signing her name. eta: and we would fill it out differently although Mom would have voted my way
Laura, your mom sounded like such a lovely lady. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry, Laura.
And in other news, I'm glad I followed my instincts and didn't tell Overly Attached Receptionist I was leaving until today. She wants to friend me on FB, and she had been hoping we could go out to lunch some time.
Laura, I'm sorry for your loss. The woman who gave us you must have been an amazing person indeed!
I discovered on Friday that my internal government fan following has tipped over to the internets...I've always had a few folks look for me online, but I'd more or less controlled where they could find me by posting "find me under these names" on the internal network. But now folks are googling "Raq" to find me, and I don't necessarily want to lead random work people here.
Thus, name change coming.
So sorry about your loss, Laura.
