Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Connie, it's good to have someone like Faux Son in your life!

Nicodemus, ffs. Be well and no more nomming nanners, ok?

I have not done as much work today as I was planning to. I've been sleeping a lot the last two days, and it feels like I needed it, like it's really deep restful sleep. I think even with the CPAP snorkel on my face I wasn't getting good sleep.

My schedule the last week has been so off kilter. Four days of full day work meetings will do that. I mean, there was a lot of value in the meetings for various aspects of my work life, but it seriously messed with my homework and regular work availability.

Yesterday I caught up on homework, accepting that I had lost a few points for not getting something in on Thursday. Today I've been working since 10am. There goes my weekend. Tomorrow I work half a day and then I'm traveling to SLC for two days of all day meetings. My brain already wants to fall out of my head.

hip deep in pie

Yay for faux son, Connie.

I hope Nicodemus takes the hint and is feeling better soon. Oz doesn't really like people food much , but often comes down with the ick after being outside. Rarely has he been so ill to not eat, though.

He's been a good companion while I've been laid up. And can I sing the praises of muscle relaxants? They are the bestest!

I am lucky enough to have never worked with any abusive actors. Abusive directors? I've known a few. Fortunately, I haven't SM'd for any of them.

Do you guys know about the Girl Guide Cookie cereal? [link]

I am not sure how to feel about Thin Mint Cereal. It's an upheaval to my worldview.

My productivity today, and indeed all weekend, has been laundry, food prep, and getting a handle on my backlog of TV shows. Sadly, this is pretty much the apex of productivity for me outside of work for October.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

t pokes the head in

Fair Buffistas who are familiar with New Orleans! I'm going to NOLA next week for a conference, which is in the main whassisname Convention Center. *goes to look* Ernest M. Morial, which is downtown, I think? Which awesome restaurants should I eat while there? Last time I was in the city, which was like 7 years ago, I ate at Green Goddess. The food there sure left an impression. Looks like it's still open...

I do not have more recent information than your last visit, Vonnie, but have a great time!

Chicken in biscuits came out better than I feared but not as good as I hoped. A learning experience.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Vonnie, Nora is your source for this! You could even google her work on Eater if she doesn't see this.

Nora is the professional, I would definitely take her recommendations. FWIW, the Morial Center is mostly the Warehouse District (it's very long), near the CBD, and getting to the Garden District or French Quarter or Marigny should be easy.

All my clothes that need to be clean for this week are in the dryer*, this Malbec that is supposed to go well with blue cheese and grilled meats is pairing well with the not-fit-to-serve-other-people chicken biscuits, and there is a fuckload of TV I haven't seen. Jeez, I let the Fall season get well underway without paying attention. Oh, I did register and pay for my bellydancing class through the end of October, so that's also something.

'* pending the sorting of clean clothes into daily outfits once they come out of the dryer. I'm considering this week Halloween Week and dressing accordingly. I've actually planned my outfits through next Tuesday (well, not the weekend, because I have no idea what I will do over next weekend. Maybe nothing? Maybe I made plans and forgot them? It's a mystery)

Commander's Palace was certainly a great dinner experience a few years ago. The Crystal Room at La Pavillon Hotel is also really good for fine dining.
