Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Mine is laugh-out-loud. Hmph.

The airport was a hell hole and now someone sitting in front of me has a small dog that is freaking out. I think O'Hare is sending me out in its usual style.

Scratch that. TWO DOGS.

Yay! I love when buffistas visit each other.

I know several people have posted here about having tried Blue Apron, but I was wondering if anyone has tried Plated? Their sample menus seem like things I'd be more likely to want to eat than Blue Apron and they have a smaller minimum order.

Coding and Sleeping

Happy moving, shrift!

Well, I decided recently I'm going to self-publish my middle-grade book 'Cog'. This is my one sentence description:

When thirteen-year old Cog stowed away on an airship, she never imagined she’d sneak her way into an apprenticeship with the Queen’s master engineer, but now she needs to foil a plot to assassinate the Queen and keep her identity secret with nothing more than her wits and a set of precision screwdrivers.

Anyhow, an agent sent it around to the big publishers but it didn't get sold even though the editors had some pretty nice things to say about it. I thought about submitting to small publishers, but I didn't feel like there was enough value for me in exchange for having less control. I kinda have to keep telling my that it's been well received by almost everyone (including people in the biz) to do this.

Right now I'm figuring it'll release in early 2016. There's a lot to do to get ready.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope SFO welcomes you better, shrift!

Argh, I forgot to bring in my coffee. I could go home and get it, which seems silly, I could jump right to drinking tea, or I could have a cup of full-caffeinated, maybe watered down. How am I supposed to decide without coffee?!?!
