Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

All ~ma for your father, Brenda. Very scary.

It is taking me forever to get through a single novel anymore. And my list of things to read is really long.

I had to just start from scratch. And if I don't set aside a block of time, I know I won't get a chance to read. So one day of the weekend, after I take care of the dogs (oh, I have dogs now), I can sit and read a while.

I know whereof you speak Laura. It seems like any time I settle in with a book to read these days I'm asleep within a few pages. Used to read 60+ pages of fiction a day. (To be fair, I do tons of reading online and as a part of my job, but rarely sit down and get through a book anymore.)

Ziploc bags are the salvation of the collector/gamer/crafter who's moving and has piles of loose things that need corralled in a semi-organized fashion.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I think I'm going to be Louise Belcher (from Bob's Burgers) for Halloween this year. I already had the hat, and I just found a perfect green t-shirt dress on Amazon for $13. And I would probably make pigtails out of black yarn. It's so easy it feels like cheating.

Excellent!

My costume is coming together, although it doesn't entirely seem like a costume to me. Head to toe, it'll be a purple witch hat something like this , a spider-web poncho , elbow-length black leather gloves, this spider skater dress (why are they called skater dresses? Ice skating?), Vampire Bat hosiery , and these shoes . And maybe the purple dragon wings I picked up at the Ren Faire this past weekend, although I suspect they won't work with the poncho. The color scheme is right, though.

I've worn the hat and shoes a couple times before on Halloween but I was never happy with what I had to go with it. I think this might look pretty good. But I don't know what to call myself when people inevitably ask me what my costume is.

I could almost get a Fairy/Witch swap going, like, tiara, wand, and wings to hat, cauldron, and poncho, but I'm not sure that the concept is worth the effort.
