I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Signs of autumn: the Bradford pear trees have started to turn, and the woolly bears are out.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Man, that really makes her sound like an ogre, but she's not.

Actually she's incredibly toxic and abusive. So... you say ogre, I say tomatoh.

Screw it Gud, just stare her down and keep doing whatever she's ranting at you about like she's not there. Reason obviously isn't going to work with her, make her shout her voice hoarse a few times and see how she likes having the only results of her mistreatment be consequences for her.

Protect your daughter, Gud. And don't be afraid of seeing what you need to protect her from.

ION, I dug out the far corner of the living room, found mostly stuff that can be easily tossed out and a few things to eBay. What's interesting about that corner is, about seven years ago I was working back there, and my wedding ring (which was not the ring I wore at the wedding, which, ahem, obviously shrunk in the wash because it was eventually too small for my finger) slid off my finger and fell behind the couch. It would have been a major production to move everything, so I began my process of finding cool Celtic interlace rings to wear.

As I cleared things out, I had the ring in mind, and eventually, I found the floor, and like Bilbo in the Mines of Moria, my hand fell upon a ring. It's a little snug, now, but maybe it's learned its lesson and will stay put now.

Wow, Connie. That's amazing.

I'm watching the Paley special about Pitch, and it's pretty fun. I'm really liking the show.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I started my day by pouring boiling water on my chest. Dave is headed home to take me to urgent care. I hope everyone else's Monday is treating them better.
