Our wings are not tired.

It is good to hear that your parents called, Gud. They may have been struck with their own emotional awkwardness not knowing what to do or say. Complaining about food sounds good to me. I am sure you will be overjoyed to have her home.

The situation with my nephew just keeps getting more grim. He had posted extensive videos of his 18th birthday party to you tube with just about everything you can image. Apparently his girlfriend's parents were out of town so that is where the party was and it was the father's BMW that he took and flipped in the accident. One of the kids must have taken down the videos but the newspaper had downloaded them before that happened and published them. We told his dad to delete his FB page, but it is still up. And the person killed was a single parent of a teenager on his way home from work. I can't begin to express how sick I am about this whole mess. And helpless.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Laura, I am so sorry.

Our wings are not tired.

To post something less depressing - I purchased a bag of Dunkin Donuts pumpkin ground coffee that will be consumed in just a few hours. I resisted the pumpkin creamer because I drink coffee black.

When Dad was in the hospital for depression (sodium deficiency), I knew he was well and truly on the mend when he got fussy about how I was brushing his dentures. I've never been so thrilled to hear nitpicking complaints in my life!

My own stays in psychiatric care were in a pretty bleak facility, with cold, unsympathetic nurses the second time. But I'll give them props for the food always being great; if I'd had any appetite at the time I would have gained weight.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gud, I'm so glad Emaryn seems to be doing better and getting some help.

And you as well.

Laura, I'm so sorry. That's incredibly upsetting and stressful. And you've had plenty of family stress as it is!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Warm, loving thoughts to all.

Long day at work and I am so tired right now. The company is doing some restructuring so the levels of management are more efficient. I might have been tapped for a house manager type job, but my knee-jerk reaction to being sounded out about it was "sorry, I love my job exactly as it is". Who knows how long they will keep letting me get away with that. Anyway, tonight was a goodbye party for the supervisor at one house who decided to quit rather than be restructured. Sooooo many people, so much food, so much clean-up.

If you all want something uplifting, I have to recommend this music video from a high school in remote Australia, with a ton of aboriginal kids and hopeful inspiring music: [link]
