Interesting. I wonder what all that specificity is all about.
Y'all, I have gotten out of the habit of watching TV. How did that happen? I don't know how to react to it, either.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

It was definitely on purpose, because he asked a different kind of question for each job, for no real reason. (Questions like the most X thing, or what was the increase of that, or where did you take the lead.) Like, he could have just asked each of his questions broadly and I would have given him all answers from the past 5 years, probably. Which would have been better!
ANYWAY.
Maybe the specificity was to see if you'd made up information for jobs you didn't have. I personally find it more likely that you wouldn't remember specifics from a job 20 years ago than if you could say "Oh, yes, on Project XYZ I was able to get a 10% improvement on the performance of Sprocket Q in the Doomsday Process."
I emailed my boss asking if they were looking to save a specific amount over the next 17 weeks since I can run #s on various things and project ways to reach that. It seems to be just generalized pressure to get out more product and people at risk would not be me. Still.

I swear he was surprised when I was just like, "I don't remember the details, but here is the gist...." Recruiters, man.

What a great idea!
That's a good idea, msbelle!
Oh, right, recruiter. That changes my mental picture of the interview.
Sounds like he read an article on interview questions.
Yeah, sounds like he's maybe not a great recruiter.
It sounded a lot like that.
I'm sorry to go into excruciating detail here, but I was about to post on the Ask A Manager open thread but then got paranoid. So I was all revved up to talk about it, and you get the benefit(?)!
Office move scheduled for Oct 14! Only 3 more weeks and 28 extra miles of the stupid commute!
