That's my girl, large and in-charge. Okay, teensy-weensy and in charge.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Suzi, that's rough.

Yeah, god forbid you use your fucking insurance.

Tim is kind of the WORST. He gets a giant case of the guilties for using his insurance. And we've hit the deductible [note to self: see how that affects what I pay the therapist] because of how many lab tests and x-rays and whatnot he's had this year, which made him feel even MORE guilty. He seriously feels bad about using insurance.

And every time, I remind him that insurance works the way it does because of all the healthy people. AND that insurance companies are making large profits.

And then I'm obligated to say "Thank god we never had kids, because using THAT much insurance would have killed you!"

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

A guy that I went to school with -- we were in school together from kindergarten through the end of high school -- just died. I'm a little bit in shock.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The correct response to meeting your deductible is to spend the rest of the year madly getting all of the doctor's appointments and tests you need out of the way.

I'm sorry, Hil and Suzi. I curse wearily in 2016's direction.

Damn, Hil. I'm sorry. That's rough, too.

Right? I should go get my cholesterol tested!

Time for that MRI you've been looking at in the showroom window!

Always Anti-fascist!

It's what it's for, and he should be mad about the clusterfuck of it all, not guilty.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, Hil. Yeah, that's hard.

Walter has been x-rayed and examined by the new vet at our regular place (a nice Jewish boy, I presume because he is Dr. Cohen. He was nice at any rate) after a quick visit to the dog park where he made a valiant effort to run with the younger dogs. It's a nice crowd out there after work, I should make an effort to get over there more often. Anyway, his bloodwork is excellent for a 14-year old, no fractures, no visible arthritis, his hip is not exactly out of joint in the sense that the femur needs to be popped back into place, but the ball is not covered as much by the socket as it normally is. So two weeks of nsaids for inflammation and tramadol for pain and rest (even if he feels good b/c painkillers don't let him run, which I am telling y'all as a reminder to myself) and maybe that'll fix him up.

My team won trivia tonight!! We were in first place after 6 out of 8 rounds, but the video round we only got 3/8 points. Apparently everyone else did worse though, because we still won! First time I've gotten money out of it! Well, bar credit, that is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Hil, that is sad.

Aw, Walter. I hope that does fix him up!

And every time, I remind him that insurance works the way it does because of all the healthy people. AND that insurance companies are making large profits.

Would it be helpful for him to add up all the premiums he's paid over the years when he didn't use a lot of health care?
