Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Success! Provided that HR and management don't have any complaints!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go Dana!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Woo hoo! That's wonderful news, Dana!

It's certainly going to make potential mortgage lenders happier. Husband found a place this weekend we may want to make an offer on.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Dana!

Thank goodness the job I applied for finally reached out for a phone screen. I'm 1000% qualified, so I figured they would -- except the search firm was also hired by my current job to find my new boss (the job I am currently "acting" in), and they are about to get fired from that search if they haven't been already. So I wasn't sure.

Wow - you would just buy right away?

That's great, Dana! And Jesse. That's some weird behind-the-scenes insight to have...

Maybe if I just keep drinking water and don't move very much I can get through today okay. Worth a try.

We kind of tend to. Husband's with my aunt and uncle right now, so long-term options are to get a house, rent a house, or go to some kind of extended stay and put our furniture in storage if necessary. Dallas has a pretty good market right now -- enough properties to choose from, but people are not so desperate to buy that they're getting in bidding wars.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am too hideously behind here to ever catch up, especially on my iPad while lying on the bed with a cat on my torso, so I am glad other people were confused by Cindy's post. I hope she is okay.

Dana, where are you moving? Eta: Dallas, I am now guessing?

Also, Hi!
