I care so much about the lives of police officers that I want for them the kind of trust and support and therefore increased safety from the communities in which they work that can only come from genuine accountability for wrong-doing.

That is also great!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My dinner was guacamole and pita chips and a spoonful of chocolate peanut butter at 10pm.

Scrappy, I feel you. I think I'm being pushed out of my job. And job searching is awkward when my home internet isn't working.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oh no, Aurelia! After my dentist appointment today, I went hunting for interview clothes at Burlington Coat Factory, and had an L.A. moment. There was a guy in his 50s with a list, walking purposefully around the ladies section and pulling things. I sized him up as not actually being the sort to wear them, so I went over and said "Are you a costumer?" He said he was and I put on the black with blue and green flecked jacket I had and said "This with a white shirt and black pants for job interviews?" He gave me a long measuring look and said "Yes.... but with a blue shirt."

I brought home the jacket and blue shirt.

Yikes to both Scrappy and Aurelia.

My application to Stanford was approved, so now I need to enroll in a required course for a Professional Certification. I haven't enrolled at a university since we used, like, telnet to do it.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I had an urge to rampage through the threads à la msbelle, but I only got through two before I ran out of steam and gave up. I feel like there's a lesson there. Or a metaphor. Or something.

I'm usually pretty good about sleeping through the night once I fall asleep, but tonight when ND got home I woke wide awake. Dammit.

There are so many things that bother me about this election, it seems pointless to mention one, but man it bugs me. Why do people think being a businessperson makes you an expert on economic policy? Sure they might have some insight on what will help business in a particular sector, but poor people might have insight on what will help poor people, teachers might have insight on what will help education, and so on.

Bothers me especially because Trump supporters point to business success as a reason to support Trump when the man is clearly an idiot.

Maybe it's just frustration that the coverage makes Hillary and Trump equals when Hillary is an experienced, intelligent, mainstream candidate and Trump is basically a joke. If the candidate was Romney again or something, then that would be fine, he was a perfectly good candidate. But... c'mon.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Someone on this conference call just groaned out loud. Luckily I'm on mute; I laughed.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Coworker was out sick last week and Monday. I have been out sick since Monday. Coworker has not actually worked on our project for months. She desperately needs to if we're going to meet deadlines. What does she do yesterday, her first day back in the office? She makes sure I'm listed as writer on 40+ issues, most of which are ALREADY COMPLETELY DONE.

I'm not arguing against some cleanup, but jesus christ, have some fucking priorities.
