All right, I made it to Abu Dhabi. Wearing a wireless bra definitely was the right choice for the additional security screening here, because this time I didn't have to go into a booth to get wanded by a lady. (That's what she said.)
Business Class is SO NICE.
shrift, I'm glad you got there safely.
Zen, I don't have any Chucks, New Balance will have to do. Dress for the event is "Sunday best". I hsve no dresses that fit me. What I do have is an utterly gorgeous red silk brocade jacket that I got as an amazing score at a thrift store a few years ago. I wore it when I testified before the state legislature's Commitee on Aging and Long Term Care, with a plain t-shirt that matches ine of the colors in the embroidery, and black pants. I figure if I wear that jacket, no one will be looking at anything else I have on. I will take a black magic marker to the scuffs on my old shoes, though.
Husband leaves this afternoon. Guess who started coming down with a cold yesterday?
(Me, not him. Fortunately. But still.)
Deep breaths, Dana. But don't breathe on husband. It's happening! May the excitement factor overwhelm the stress factor.
WindSparrow, that sounds perfectly Sunday best to me. Also, pretty!
WS, sounds like a good plan! One "statement" piece and all else understated is classy. And a black Sharpie covers a lot of problems!
Timelies all!
The cats had their annual checkup this morning, so we had to wrangle Luna into a carrier, and as she does not like being held, I have a few new scratches on my arm. (Nova is easy to get in a carrier, but she will complain loudly the whole way to the vet.) As I have no car, Gary took them. The little guy has fallen asleep on the floor.
The little guy has fallen asleep on the floor.
So cute! I know it is past ltc's nap time when she tries to sleep on the floor. Although, she has never succeeded as far as I can tell.
Sat is usually early morning pool at the gym but it was raining this morning, so I decided not to risk it and slept in. My right quad is sore also so I need to foam roller it I think. Mac has a birthday party we have to be at before noon and he has not showered and we still need to get a card. He has been warned but is still online playing a game.
The rest of my day will be lazy, possibly meeting a friend for a meal or coffee. The friend is wrangling 2 kids to various events.
I have a birthday party I have to be at for 3, and I haven't got the birthday card yet either. I do have a gift though, and probably an appropriate gift bag and tissue paper somewhere.
Guess who started coming down with a cold yesterday?
Ugh, that sucks. At least let the cold come when you have someone there to bring you medicine and food.
I'm in Hyderabad. I'm at corporate apartments and about to crawl into bed for the night considering it's almost 10pm.
