Exactly! I can deal with the other side being asses, but I would prefer my side be beyond reproach.

There are always assholes in every group. All you can hope is that there are enough non-assholes who are loud enough that people not in your group don't identify the whole group with the assholes. You know?
Suzi, if you're exempt, I'd imagine the argument is that they are giving you free money by paying any overtime at all, so they can do what they want. But see if AaM responds!
My job is super making me crazy today. I thought these people were taking care of a low-value task of mine for me, but they totally fucked it up, so now I've spent most of the day on it anyway. Annoying!
Yeah, Pascal's Wager has always bugged me. Part of it was it's an argument to adopt a belief system based on a reward you're gonna get and/or a punishment you'll avoid.
But there's a big logical flaw in it. It assumes that there are only two possibilities: 'There is no God', or 'There is the Christian God.' Pascal's Wager should be adopted to include all religions. In that case, you'd believe the religion with the best heaven and worst hell.
But then the religion with the best heaven might not be the one with the worst hell, so if you want to invest your soul conservatively you should believe the religion with the worst hell, so if you're wrong you won't go to the worst hell, just some other hell.
But if you want to invest your soul aggressively you should believe in the religion with the best heaven, even though if you believe wrongly you could end up in the worst hell.
Which religion has the best heaven? My beliefs don't really include one. I could upgrade.
Laura, I'm sorry about the doctor. It's just a bit more cruel that he was so close to retirement.
I hope you're able to take some time for yourself soon.
As an exempt employee, I get no OT, no matter how many hours or days I work. At the same time, I have no $$ deducted for long lunches or doctor's appointments, etc. The glorious life of a salaried employee.
Many companies give OT to non-exempt employees only for hours WORKED. It's to keep people from taking a sick day and then working a different day in order to get the time and a half. This also includes holidays.
Which religion has the best heaven?
Now I want to do some analysis with spreadsheets and come up with a Power Point presentation I can take to various religious thinkers.
"As you can see on this slide, religion X has some great heavenly benefits. See this bullet-pointed list? Can your religion offer anything to beat this?"

Problem is that the assholes are so damn loud.
They always are.
