Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Suzi!

You can do it, flea!! Deep breaths. And/or shitty first drafts.

I just realized the main thing left on my long weekend to-do list is apply for jobs. Ugh.

Way to Suzi!

You can do it, flea. Ease up on yourself if you can.

I have chosen clothing to get me through the work week, and what needs washing is in the washer. So that's something. Will there be more accomplished by me today? Perhaps.

I'm only working three days this week and next week - taking off Friday through Tuesday for my dad's 75th birthday. Which will involve packing and planning and so forth, but that can wait. I think what I mostly don't wanna do today is think. So.

Go flea go!

Oh man. I am exhausted and my lips are chapped and I am already experiencing serious con drop. I know I couldn't actually handle it (I think I drank more this weekend in one weekend than I did in the last six months combined), but I wish my life was like this all the time. My god.

Writing~ma, flea.

Go, Suzi! I believe in your case we can fully go with "past results do predict future yields."

I have been inspired by the productive people here to be just a tad more productive, myself. Started the washing machine, started 2 loads of laundry, and taken out the trash, so far. We'll see if I get around to the folding once the laundry is dry.

I meant to say "way to go" but I think I like verbing Suzi better.

I am waiting to board my flight back to San Francisco. I have a very long To Do list that I need to tackle before I fly to India on Friday morning.

Coding and Sleeping

So far I've set some chicken marinating for dinner tonight, some mowing, some dishes, some laundry, a bit more basement cleaning, and added another latch to help dog-proof our kitchen garbage can.

Now I'm actually working on a novel, Cog and the Copper Dragon. Will have to stop to cook dinner before long though.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Weekend disappointment for my boy. Once a year, I take him to a rugby league match. This year we settled on Melbourne vs Cronulla - last weekend before the finals, and the match to decide the minor premiership. Melbourne was just too good, with a rock-solid defence. (That's a shame, Cronulla was the team I followed before the Canberra Raiders joined the comp, and they're still my second favourite. But silver lining, their loss allowed Canberra to jump into second place with a 52-10 demolition of the Wests Tigers.)

Alas, during the first half, Ryan started to complain that his eye was hurting. He stepped out for a bit, but it was getting worse; and we had to leave at half-time. On the train home, his eye was getting better, but his tummy was getting worse. We weren't a third of the way home when he threw up. We got off the train (found a rubbish bin to dispose of any unpleasantness) and called Biyi to come get us. He threw up again when we got home.

Poor boy. He'd been looking forward to it for many weeks. In happier news, here are the highlights from the Canberra-Wests match. Check out the magic pass to set up the Raiders' second try, about 55 seconds in. (Reminder: in rugby league, you can only pass sideways or backwards, not forwards.) [link]
