Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Fingers crossed for your FIL Cindy, that's a rough situation to be in.

My parents' 55th anniversary dinner turned out well last night. Not quite without a hitch, the pork tenderloin entree was too tough for Dad to eat, but fortunately I had a very yummy cake made for the occasion that ensured no one left hungry. They had a great time, and loved the restaurant and the staff there.

Our wings are not tired.

That looks quite yum, Tom.

Yay for good anniversary dinner!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, Matt, 55 is something!

I spent more time than expected arranging my lawn chair so my head, water, chocolate and wine were in shade while my legs were in full sun this afternoon. Worth it, very enjoyable day.

Ah, good prep is key. Well worth the effort.

I'm half convinced the local Sunday morning NPR announcer is drunk. This Sunday more than most. He tends to get less weird as the morning progresses.

I am awake for zero good reason. Wtf body. If you wanted to be wide awake at 530, why not on a week day??

I'm going to go knock on doors for a local candidate later, and am trying to convince myself how it's actually the perfect weather for that kind of thing. I don't feel like doing it! Oh well.
