Early: So is it still her room when it's empty? Does the room, the thing, have purpose? Or do we -- what's the word? Simon: I really can't help you. Early: The plan is to take your sister. Get the reward, which is substantial. 'Imbue.' That's the word.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sister is being released from hospital and will soon be on her way home. Whew.

I did a couple things wrong and am not happy about that, but feel like I've had so much on my plate that they should be happy about what I have accomplished.

RIGHT?! Geez, all the crap I take care of and make all better, and nobody sees that.

I really want to throw my hands up and say "screw you all I'm out" but know that's not a realistic option.

So much.

Most of the time my job is fine. I just have to try not to lose my shit on the days and weeks when it's not fine. I'm talking to my boss today about reorganizing how my work is done to make it more fine more of the time (I hope). I can't realistically quit, but I can't keep going like I have been anymore, either.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here's a new one. We are considering rescinding a job offer.

Pro-tip: when you are hired for a very junior role, commensurate with your very junior level of experience, sitting on the offer for several days and then calling to exhaustively review whether you will be able to impact strategy, what guarantees you had that your work would be "high level" and not tactical stuff, how you might move into a different and more visible role if that were what you decided you wanted, how quickly you could expect to be able to do that, what steps would you need to take to move into other areas of the firm, etc etc? For 45 minutes? Not the greatest idea.

I assume there was also a request for more money buried in there somewhere, but my manager was so flabbergasted at all of this it probably barely registered.

I mean seriously, who has time for that? You know every three days would be some new complaint about being asked to do stuff that was in her job description beneath her.

I'm glad your sister seems to be doing better Zen.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That person sounds like a nightmare, Brenda.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Brenda, is she leaning in?

Oh, I really hope you continue posting details about this because I bet it's going to be entertaining.

Leaning in to unemployment.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Wow, brenda, that's a little OTT and presumptuous. I wouldn't blame you if you did.

I will not be nearly as demanding if I should ever work with/for you.

(Speaking of companies, mine is trying to do business with yours. We seem to be making some headway. Consolidation in my industry has not been good for the companies who are being acquired. It's been great for us.)

Wow Brenda. That's definitely over the top.

And I feel many of us should win the lottery and have a roving travel-theater-cute animals-good food plan.

My job is also usually fine, and he last couple days were a nice relief from some stress of the past few weeks...but today was a reminder that it's just going to be worse for the next two weeks. That said, in theory late August and September won't be SO bad?
