Coding and Sleeping

Oooh, fancy.

Yeah, sometimes I forget how big a company I work for.

Had to search a couple times, some had already been taken down by bbc

Oh, that's not good. Someone elsewhere mentioned a Chrome plug in called beeb, I think, which might help. I'm gonna check that out.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oof, so still working on this project (Giapetta's Workshop, now Portal Scope) and putting together this last presentation pitch has been pure torture. So hard to work on. Such a difficult collaboration. Three partners and everybody's stretched and stressed to capacity, freaked and frazzled and frustrated. Just tired of each other too, and ready to quit and get the fuck away from this thing.

And I pushed to have the presentation done to new eyes, so we took it to the consulting group we've been working for and had people watch the whole thing. And it worked really well.

And it looks like we're not only getting a return meeting with Marvel, but they're bringing in Disney people too. So we'll have a joint Marvel/Disney pitch.

And while I have not been paid on this for three months (or pulling-my-hair out frustration), it looks like I'm getting a bigger stake in the project because our fourth partner has done none of the work since February.

So. Fingers crossed.

That seems HUGE. It's huge, right?

The first part is frustrating as hell, but the latter part sounds like it might make up for it eventually.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad it went well, David. Here's hoping the next pitch does, too.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

That sounds like a lot of pressure AND a lot of possibility, David. Best of luck to you with it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Fingers crossed, David!

Yeah, it's a big deal. Especially since we already saw the President of Marvel and he's bringing us back. And fantastic to have both Marvel and Disney in the room for the pitch. So it'll have a lot of weight.

In a lot of ways, we're a better fit with Disney than Marvel anyway.

So we've got three assets to show now, including the original Giapetta Demo I wrote, and this latest presentation (which is all about Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel).

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Squirrel Girl is better for teaching programming, though.
