I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I am super cranky today. People are doing things just badly enough to upset me, but not badly enough for me to insist on fixing them.

The upholstery place that's recovering my comfy chair has had it for ten weeks now. Waited 8 weeks for the fabric to come in, then oops can't get that fabric, "I left you a message a week ago!" no you did not, now wait over a week for new swatches, pick another fabric, takes three days to inform me that's twice as expensive as the first one! just give me the chair back, nope they already broke it down! Dammit. I could pick a cheaper fabric but I didn't see another one I liked, so he's giving it to me "at cost" which is still a third again more expensive than my first choice. So getting my chair and ottoman recovered is costing me as much as a brand-new set, and it's taking 3 months to do it. I'm disgruntled. My BFF says I should demand a discount, but I know they're at the mercy of their distributor, I don't like how they handled it but they didn't do anything wrong just annoying. They gave me a break on the fabric and that's all they can do. I've got no choices except pay it, or tell them to throw away the chair, since they already broke it down they can't just bring it back. At this point I just want my damn chair back.

And my landscaper guy asked for his payment last week, I paid him, and then he hasn't been back to finish the job. I called him and he said his van broke down - okay, but you should let me know if you're not able to come finish a job on time. It's been a week, with logs laying under the trees, a big trash bin on the patio, rebar sticking out of the ground, and the concrete walkway and flower bed not finished. And again, he didn't do anything wrong just annoying.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

AUGH husband has an email from the company that says to call them and he's NOT HOME and DOESN'T HAVE A CELL PHONE

I really hope this job is his, Dana!

He has a thing about cell phones. And borrows mine occasionally.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I would be hunting my spouse down in that instance, Dana.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Liar.

My whole office is sitting around about to do a fantasy football draft. Not me, of course. This is why I do not feel bad about taking long lunches every so often to get my nails done.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Actually, I am, in a desperate bid not to think about things.
