It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I haven't watched any new shows in years, and I've had to give some up. I just run out of time. I've got three seasons of one show on the DVR, because I will watch them all, damnit. (They're gone by Labor Day, because that's my deadline, and I know I won't.)

ION or one of the HGTV/USA/History/A&E-type channels are on during the day while I'm working. I've seen every episode of Criminal Minds, L&O, L&O: SVU, and NCIS out there, so I don't feel the need to pay attention to them, but they keep me company.

Speaking of Criminal Minds, I wonder how things are going to work out since Thomas Gibson was fired? It will be interesting to see how they write him out, and who comes in to take his place.

Our wings are not tired.

I think I only know the marathon method of watching shows anymore. I record the late night shows to have current funny stuff available but don't really watch any shows real time.

There are enough worthwhile shows I have never seen that I could go the rest of life just watching DVDs of old shows.

brillig

I hate watching real time without the means to go past commercials.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I almost never watch in real time, only for a watch and post. The Olympics were horrible to me, having to watch commercials and see the same ones over and over.

this discussion has led me to creating a to watch list. I think I am going to put on livejournal and just keep updating it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Did I post here or just on FB about the article about Warren Buffett's sister? Anyway, I had written off being able to do anything with her, especially after the follow up article about how many letters even the reporter (Sasha Pfeiffer!) had gotten, but THEN my mother told me that the family friend who is a Buffett cousin was calling her on my behalf! So I just wrote a letter! Phew.

Damn. Now it's supposed to rain on Sunday. That is not the weather I wanted to pay $500 for a day on a boat. Wtf. It's going to be 90 on Friday...and 72 and raining on Sunday?

I'm still binge watching Doctor Who Seasons 8 and 9. Have been for a few months now. About half-way through season 8. I'm liking the relationship between Clara and Doctor 12.

Glad to hear your parents are okay, Maria. The destruction sounds terrible.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I am having a grumpy morning. And I'm grumpy about being grumpy. I mean, life is pretty good right now. My house is neat, housecleaners are coming today to get it sparkling. Jack is improving on dealing with strangers. Both my kids are in good relationships, have good jobs, and are healthy. I'm healthier than I have been in a while. School is good. Work is good.

Ok, I do have a work rant. Remember that raise and promotion I asked for MONTHS ago? Still hasn't worked its way through. HR did say that they can't justify the promotion (grade change) for now as I'm too far below the starting pay for the new grade. DUH, that is why I want the raise. So they are planning on a raise now (not sure when now really is), a larger than normal year end raise (in April) and grade change. Which, ok, fine. Just DO IT. My boss is trying the best he can but he keeps getting bounced around and dealing with different people and providing different justifications. And...I told him I'm tired of asking and he said to keep checking it. But dang...why is this so hard?!?!? If my whole management chain is supportive, come on...

Grumpy pants here.
