I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am still looking at china patterns because of you people.

This is not china, but cute, right? [link]

Thanks Connie! I'm trying to decide if it's worth $50/day in rental and parking fees to have my own car or if I'd rather just do Uber & public transportation while in LA. Knowing I can at least arrange transport from and to LAX will let me shave off a couple days of car rental, even if I get one for touristy stuff on the full days I'm there.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm so burnt out on superheroes and poorly scripted shows, and unrelenting meanness and sadness and rage, I've stopped watching almost everything. I'm currently glutting on DIY and HGTV. If a ditzy trophy wife wants a wall of glass and her husband is only willing to pay for a half-wall of glass, I can point and laugh at their momentous event struggle faces.

Suzi, I think I've bought one thing from Replacements, a candlestick I'd hunted for years to pair with one I'd found for a dollar, and it was offered through them (for *way* more than a dollar). But mostly I use the site to ID thrift shop and yard sale teacups.

Our wedding china is on the right of the middle shelf in this picture but we seldom use the place settings, which are stacked on the breakfront shelves. The other things in this picture have been...um, accumulated, over time. And yes, I use the pots and cups, pitchers and sugar bowls, and enjoy the heck out of them.

This is what the Great British Bake Off is for. Also old seasons of Foyle's War and other similar shows.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Superheroes are still totally my escapism (plus Elementary, which rocks my socks). But that's why there are so many channels -- everyone can have different teevee.

It's too soon to rewatch Foyle's War. I suppose after I exhaust my interest in house shows I'll probably turn to cooking shows. I do frequently enjoy Restaurant: Impossible, though.

Restaurant: Impossible

I assume this is all people cooking while hanging from the ceiling a la "Mission Impossible."

NO ONE BURST MY BUBBLE.

Oh yes, I'm anticipating Elementary--teevee for grownups. There are a few scripted things I enjoy, but my ability and willingness to engage with unrelenting darkness of spirit and grinding angst is just exhausted. I'm about at the level of hangnail and burnt dinner levels of angst.

The Meg in my online name comes from Marguerite. Named after an elderly lady from Spain who was a mentor to my mom in the LWV. I can't recall if it was the ERA onesie or baby blanket that came from her, or both. She died well before I could remember her, but I'm proud to carry her name.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to is Luke Cage.
