"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We got all our dishes through the power of msbelle-on-eBay.

And they still get compliments any time I post a food picture on FB.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Msbelle, that looks a lot like my grandmother's china, that my sister has. And my grandmother's name was also Marguerite.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

There is a large set of Limoges with hand-painted pink rosebuds and gold rims that used to be my great-grandmother's. It could be mine, but I don't want it. Too fussy for me. It's my mom's for now.

DH and I are happy with our Fiestaware.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Same! Except I have my grandmother's, and she went by Margot, but was actually named Marguerite.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Grandma Margurites for the win.

Other grandmother was Marjorie, she had a sister Marg who I think was actually a Margaret and the mom was Marjorie who had sisters: Marguerite, Maude, Minnie, and Mae.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My great aunt was Marguerite, but she went by Day. (Marguerite>Daisy>Day).

Her sister, my Nana, was the very Buffistaesque Grace Matilda.

I always wanted to name a child Daisy after my grandmother! But she would have thought that was ridiculous, because her name really was Margot.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I have china from when we got married link. But I really would like some new everyday dishes.

sj, we have the same china! My everyday dishes are these: [link] I have everything except the mugs. Setting for 12, and I've used them all at least twice (and not because I was too lazy to wash the dishes).

I have a great-Aunt Marguerite, who was called Auntie Mamie, and two Marguerite cousins.

Thrive to spite them

I currently don't have any dishes. I had Phalzgraft set kthat was like the one I had growing up....Mom foudn it at a garage sale and got it for me.

But I realized I wanted new dishes and those things were heavy so I got rid of them.

And never found a set I liked. Well I found a Corelle set that by the time I decided those were the dishes they were out of stock almost everywhere and then the price jumped. So I bought a couple of Corelle plates and some pasta bowls and a cereal bowl and called it a day. They didn't make it from the move from Vermont but I think when I buy dishes again it will be Corelle. They are lightweight, they don't break easily and they don't take up much space in the cabinet.

I have my grandmother's wedding china packed up in Florida and one day I will have a cabinet and put those on display.
