I finally made good on my resolution and dragged my parents' unused-for-decades treadmill up to my third floor walkup. Starting tomorrow I'm going to try and fit in an hour of using it every day while watching TV.

I don't have any fancy crystal: my mother had very little left when she died, and I think my sister has most of it. I do have my mother's china, and her mother's. Maybe I'll look into getting some crystal at an estate sale, that would be fun.
It was the little guy's first game.
That's a nice park to start him on!
My mom got my dishes by collecting grocery store stamps. The only drawback is that they came with tea cups and saucers but no bowls. When I do drink tea I tend to use a mug, so the teacups go unused. I use the saucers when I just want a smaller plate.
This is my mom's pattern that I will get if I want it - Musette by Lenox. [link]
Her sister has Chanson by Lenox. And that could well be offered to me as well. [link]
My grandmother had some china with violets on it, and I like it, but an aunt has it and not sure it would ever come to me.
also people who really never plan to use your tea cups and saucers - sell them if they are worth anything.
That Chanson kind of looks like mine from my grandmother: [link] But holy crap, if I ever need money, I guess I know where I'm getting it.
I'll probably be getting my parents wedding china. Which we only used for holidays. But it's nice. And my grandmother's unless my brother wants it. And mom just asked me if I want the silver plated coffee serving set they got from the Swedish side of the family. Not worth much, but I used to play with it and it's pretty. I need to find a glass fronted cabinet I like to put stuff like that and my Mexican pottery on proper display.
No swim today. Too many storms. I maybe had a window this morning, but I was cleaning.
Weird experience in Target later. Found a lady crying quietly in the aisle. Was not sure if I was being scammed or not, but decided early on I didn't care and the money was of no importance to me, while clearly it was to her, no matter what.. I did one Google search in a moment of something, and those facts bore out.
oh and a word on Replacements, they are SUPER expensive. look for your patterns on ebay.
My mom's china is 8 - 10X cheaper consistently on ebay.
My dishes are half the price on ebay.
Oh, so I won't be getting untold riches if I sell my grandmother's china? Good to know!
I texted my aunt to say how delicious the kim chi was, and -- I kind of thought this -- she was like, "Really? We had no idea what it was supposed to taste like!" Hee. They took a class.
Y'all now have me looking at china on ebay - GODDAMNIT
I am kinda in love with this [link]
That look speaks to me for me pink formica table and vintage kitchen. and it is SO Southern.
