Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds awesome, -t! Where are you backpacking?

Where are you going backpacking, t??

I have one set of cousins that seemed SOOOO old when I was a kid, but they're only about 10-15 years older. My other cousins are my siblings' ages, so a few years younger than me. I feel bad my parents don't get tons of grandkids--my sister is adopting one kid but it doesn't look like I'll be having any, and I'm hoping my brother doesnt reproduce...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Little Lakes Valley in the John Muir Wilderness, southeast of Yosemite. We're taking a day to drive down, and a day to acclimate to the elevation, then 6 days on trail, then back home and the weekend to do laundry and get used to the idea of going back to work. I am looking forward to it SO MUCH!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yes it does

OMG y'all, school starts tomorrow. I am not ready.

Wow, -t, that sounds like an awesome trip!

And yes, always a good idea to break in the boots. I recommend you continue wearing them, actually. And bring good lotion for your feet on the trail!

That footage of the puppies playing is great.

I'm traveling for work this evening, and it's really amazing how much more efficient I am in the office on the last few hours before leaving for a few days.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Having some serious rain(with thunder and lightning) here

Tomorrow we fly to Kansas City for WorldCon! Tonight we pack ALL! THE! THINGS! (well it feels like that sometimes traveling with an almost-toddler)

These aren't new boots, Consuela, I just hadn't worn them in a while and couldn't remember what they felt like. Pretty comfy, which is nice. Lotion is a good idea, that's the kind of thing I never think of. Although would that have to go in the bear canister? I suspect so.

Have fun, Sheryl!

BTW, I cut the Gordian knot of my Disney Princess demand from the coworker by building an outfit around my "I'm no princess" Maleficent tank. Wait, is that Maleficent? Google image search says no. Snow White's stepmother, I guess. Does she have a name?

Whoa! School for you or for kids? Either way, I'm sure you're plenty ready.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

My department moved offices this weekend, so this morning I had to perform all new routines while sleep deprived. New building, different shuttle. Had to set up my desk and computer. Had to find all the meeting rooms. Had to find food.

On the bright side, somehow I ended up with a corner desk with windows and a great view. There was some trauma but also excellent tacos for lunch, so I guess it's not all bad.
