ION, ran the dog this morning, and made a tart crust which is now chilling in the fridge. I think I'll try to make frangipane cream tomorrow and throw some apricots on top. Nom.

Thank you both. It's been a rough summer, but then summer tends to be a bit rough on me. I'm trying to just let go of the anger and frustration since fall is almost here and there's a new school year ahead, and that presents a whole different set of challenges.

What is frangipane? I turns up in British Bake-Off, and I don't know what it is.

It's used a lot in French Pastry...if you've ever had an almond croissant, the almond paste was probably frangipane.
I miss this place. I'm using the Chrome Beta browser on Android now and it seems to do a better job of keeping my place than the old one.
The only thing of note to report vis that a temporary rental car is making driving much much easier. As in "working AC easier."
The alumni group bowling thing was fine. No one there from within a decade of my graduation date, so that was not great. Everyone seemed nice though and I will go to ones in the future. Next one up includes a few other university alum groups.
msbelle, I admire how willing you are to go out and meet others. I've grown terrified of that sort of thing.
