Random wackiness: I'm wearing an acid green/lime/yellow skirt, a blue blouse, and a white shrug today. As soon as I walked in, my cube neighbor said "Oh, Snow White!" We determined that I need some red in the look to really nail it, and he said he expects me to have that by Monday. I told him I don't want to wear the same thing on Monday that I'm wearing today, and he pointed out that the whole point is that it won't be the same there will be more red. Could hardly argue with that.
Anyway, another co-worker said I needed a crown, so I have been wearing my work tiara all day.
And demanding co-worker has relented to the extent that he now expects me to be some Disney princess on Monday, as long as the movie is more than 30 years old. I will have to give that some thought this weekend.
Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel (without googling)
Sorry, drop Ariel.
If 30 years is the requirement, that only gives you Snow, Cindy, and Aurora.
Not 30 years. (ETA: Pocahontas, that is. Really only 3? Huh)
This stupid day will never end. The two things I came in wanting to get done I have not gotten a chance to work on at all and one thing that came up after I got here that I have been trying to get done since 8:45 has also gotten pushed aside for various and sundry emergent tasks. I'm having a goddamn brownie.
Apparently the Pocahontas I was thinking of was 1995. Seems a lot longer ago than that to me.
Really only 3? Huh
I was surprised too. I feel like my childhood was filled with Disney, but all the others came after I was an adult (well, depending on what part of 1989 The Little Mermaid came out in, I might have only been 17, but still).
Guess the re-releases of those three, plus Bambi, Pinocchio, The Fox and the Hound (was that Disney? Not sure...), etc., made it Disney-full, even if it wasn't that Princess-full.
Stretch the definition of "princess", and you can add Tinkerbell, even Wendy if you want.
Hm. I do have some fairy wings from the dollar store, but they are purple. Can Tinkerbell be purple?
I am also having a cookie.
ETA it was only half a brownie.
I might be the last person left in the building. It's really quiet.
The Disney Princess Industrial Complex is definitely a recent innovation.
When I went to leave early, my team member who usually works an early schedule was still there. I was like, "Are you working on a deadline I forgot about or ????" She had plans after work, but later. Phew!
Am massaged.
Remember Leia is a Disney Princess now.
