this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I need affirmation on something: one of my classmates in my improv class had successful surgery for a brain tumor within the past year. I'm not sure if he's currently receiving chemo or radiation, because he didn't say, and it's none of my business.

Class is tonight and I have a cold. I should probably stay home, right? I mean, I wouldn't want to give it to anyone, but his immune system might be suppressed because of chemo meds. I don't want to miss class (although I do feel lousy), but I don't want to get anyone, but especially this fellow, sick.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The dog we are dogsitting is snoring. So cute.

I understand your concern, Tep, but isn't it up to him to take his own precautions? If he's that immuno-supressed, would he be going out?

hip deep in pie

Steph, If you're feeling sick enough that you'd feel like you're infecting everyone, I'd stay home. But I wouldn't let this guy's presence in your class dictate it. If you're feeling well enough, you could just tell the class you have a cold, and if they're vulnerable they'll stay away.

(My friend's husband has an inoperable brain tumor, and while he's being treated for it, he wouldn't have the energy to be in an improv class.)

I'm with Dana. It is his job to take care of himself. You have a good heart but it is up to him, really.

Work vent and question. So, I work with our contracts group when we need new Purchase Orders. We have one that was needed last week but apparently the contracts person didn't get the vendor set-up ahead of time, so I can't do anything until that happens. Today she sent me the vendor number info but said she can't award yet because she still needs more documentation. I asked if I should send her the requisition now so she can award once she has what she needs or if I should wait. Her response was "Frankly Scarlett".

I'm livid. So unprofessional. I just...I don't know what to do. I want to forward her response to her boss going WTF, I want her off this project right now (totally not my call). I sent a note to the project manager asking him to call me as soon as he can. I just totally don't know how to handle this from here. WTF!?!?!?!

Exactly. And wash your hands. Just saying.

Her response was "Frankly Scarlett".

Not cool. Is today her last day, if not then totally inappropriate.

Awww. Our beagle snores up a storm. Everything that dog does is loud.

I thought that, too. I guess I'm just super sensitive to stuff like that. I mean, I've gotten sick because my mom knew she had a cold and didn't stay home, and my immune system is normal. I just don't want to be Typhoid Mary.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jadzia is like that to the point where she started refusing ALL TREATS because sometimes I gave them to her after I did the topical flea treatment stuff. She was eating the glucosamine for a while, actually, but now I have to shove it into her canned food and hope she doesn't eat entirely around it.

Darby is very treat suspicious, always looking for the angle. She gets one after her last walk of the night but anything other than that? Probably a set up for...something. Anyway she's not having it.

Her glucosamine tablets she will not take by hand, but I drop it in her chow and she eats it first (and sometimes only if she's decided the chow is also a trick).

[For people who watched White Collar back in the day: I considered renaming her Mozzie when I got her. She would have rocked that name.]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, Mozz!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, I feel like I know Darby well if she's channeling Mozzie.

WTF indeed, Suzi.

Wow, I've never heard of April Ashley before, I'm glad I have now!
