Five Thirty Eight nearly gave me a heart attack last week when Trump's projected chances of winning eclipsed Clinton's. I like 2-to-1 odds much better, though I'd rather have 20-to-1 or 200-to-1.
I think some of what's happening is that without a field of multiple fellow candidates to contend with over the nomination, Trump can't confine himself to just attacking disliked politicians the public considers fair game and is going after people that they can identify with. Basically, if you mock and insult Ted Cruz you anger Ted Cruz and maybe Heidi; mocking and insulting the grieving parents of a soldier who died in combat puts you in Westboro Baptist Church territory and people aren't able to ignore it so well anymore.
So many podcasts! I am ignoring all suggestions as I already can't keep up with my subscriptions.
I am unwisely subscribing to some, even though I am so behind on so many and I have so little room on my phone! I did have two six hour car rides this weekend, so I've made some room!

The current now-cast is making me laugh and laugh. I'm starting to wonder if Trump can go into negative numbers on the now-cast.
He is certainly giving it his best shot this week.
I used to joke -- and it really was a joke -- that when Dubya was in office, he could eat a baby on live TV and the media would just say "See how he loves the children!"
I am now waiting for Trump to EAT A BABY. And it's only *mostly* a joke.
Everything about the death of Korryn Gaines at the hands of the BCoPD is fucked up. It's an indictment of so much of the system, from health all the way down to policing. Like, could anyone make one damn de-escalating decision once in this whole woman's life? It's complicated and messy, but it's like...fails. Just fails. As usual.
And why does this feel like I've seen this before...oh, yeah.
Podcasts: this is where I rec ones by my friends! Fanboy News Network and Don't Read the Latin!
So one of co-workers with whom I am friends posts memes that are all virulently anti-Trump and misleading or inaccurate (the most recent was the one about Home Depot cofounder wants to sponsor Trumps wall) or some shit. I always Snope him. I wonder if he feels like I am undermining him by doing so. I want to tell him, "Dude I'm on your side. But Trump is so batshit nuts that you can stick to the verifiable facts and still prove that he's not worth voting for."
