Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Of course they don't!

If you read Ask A Manager, or even if you don't, you should read this heartwarming update: [link]

Thrive to spite them

Comcast does not charge me a rental fee for my own modem. But I think it helped that I took it back to them and made a point of returning it.

I was told there wouldn't be a hook up fee because I had my own modem. Bit I got charged a smaller amount. I forget what they called it but similarly worded and I told them I owned my modem they didn't set it up. Bit its some sort of transfer of services fee. Basically I paid them to turn my services on.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Why no, I'm not sniffling. At all. Thanks, Jesse.

I hate Comcast so much that I went with CenturyLink DSL. It's not as good, but I consistently get 25 mbps down and 2 up, so it suffices. Also helps I'm 800 ft from the CO.

Yay, sarameg! Way to go, Monday!

-t, backflung. Thank you so much!

Today has been oh so fun with Jack barking any time the installers twitch. We have had him outside, inside, with treats, with lots of attention, with no attention and he is just on high alert. He is like a cranky toddler without a nap at this point.

Tomorrow is doggie day care.

I scheduled internet installation for next Thursday. One more thing off the To Do list. I keep looking at moving checklists because I assume that I must be forgetting something. Am I ruthlessly efficient, or am I kidding myself? I guess we'll find out!

I vote ruthlessly efficient!

I also vote "I worked crazy hard last week and fuck all this noise, I'm stopping work at 3PM". For today at least. Unless I get urgent emails. Or a call.

Our wings are not tired.

Suzi did you have Jack meet the techs and spend some time with them in the house? If Cayenne doesn't actually meet the people (and be given treats by them if they're willing) she can't just be moved outside and expected not to bark. Once the dogs meet the interlopers and understand that I want the interlopers to be onsite, it really helps.

That would have been my way to handle the situation. K-Bug had other ideas that didn't play out well. She gets freaked when he acts like that. We talked after they left today and hopefully next time will go better. Tomorrow he goes to doggie day care since they will be doing the patio door.

Separately he now knows how to "shake" hands.
