Was it here someone was lamenting the demise of WordPerfect?
Yeah, that was me. WP had great legal form support and had a wonderful View Codes feature. I wonder if I still have the installation CD from around 2000.

ooh ... I remember View Codes ... it was SO helpful ... and was a great introduction to learning HTML (I still do some hand coding)
Oh, yeah. I have pretty much given up on Facebook except for whatever is at the top of my newsfeed when I happen to look at it. Sorry people I don't have other contact with! I am keeping up with my one friend in Amsterdam pretty well since I guess his bored-in-the-afternoon posts hit when I am getting up and look to see what's going on.
View Codes! Those were the days, my friends.
Timelies all!
Tomorrow we head to Pittsburgh for Confluence. Tonight we pack.
Was it here someone was lamenting the demise of WordPerfect? 'cause I had someone this morning inquire if we had legal document forms in WordPerfect ... a lawyer, of course (not to disparage lawyers (this time) but because they seem to be the last one clinging to WP.
I hadn't said anything, but I preferred WP. The Department of Justice was still using WP when I was still litigating, but I transferred out of that role in 2005.
Pretty sure I wouldn't have this headache if I'd gotten to swim. Grumble.
Pretty much sitting in a multihours long path of thunderstorms.
If they're the ones we had this morning, they're a doozy.

There was a window, but I missed it. Damned me not being a perfect meteorologist.
Hey, New Englandish people, I have a friend who will be driving from VA to Maine next week, unfortunately because her mother has gone into hospice. She's looking for a couch to crash on to break up the trip, so she doesn't have to do the whole 12 hours in a day, and she can't afford a hotel. Anyone in the NY area who could help? Or in the CT area?
I vouch for her absolutely -- known her almost 20 years. She'll be very low maintenance and grateful.
I'm only a couple of hours out of Portland, but do have a spare room, if she's OK with cats.
ION, I solicited submissions for the Good Stuff, and of course someone immediately submitted something I don't want to post! (That Make-a-wish garbage truck kid. I'm randomly anti Make-a-wish.)
