Moody funk. Therapy yesterday where therapist repeatedly told me I hold myself to unrealistic standards. So I am trying to focus on being gentle with myself, setting achievable daily goals and string myself on the back.

At work today I am focusing on getting papers off my desk. So far so good.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Standards are tough, too low and nothing gets done, to high and you drove yourself nuts.

Today is CJ's birthday. My little man is 20. First time he met Buffistae was at the Nillyque. I took him out to breakfast this morning and now he and his girlfriend are hanging at the house.

I feel ancient. My kids are 20 and 26!!!

Well apparently I've wrapped all the way around to keeping high expectations of self that are no longer realistic with expanded life responsibilities and get overwhelmed so do nothing or very little which starts shame spiral/depression which means even less motivation. Rinse repeat x 8-9 years.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That sounds familiar, msbelle. I'm sorry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Be gentle with yourselves, friends!

Happy birthday, CJ! I freaked my mother out the other day with how old I am. It made me laugh. Oh, which reminds me - I am going to get my hair colored, but not if I don't call for an appointment!

Then I remembered, oh yeah, I work for a big box hardware store.

Hee.

Coding and Sleeping

Love this from TPM:

Trump's Razor: "Ascertain the stupidest possible scenario that can be reconciled with the available facts."

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

It struck me that, as much as Trump seems to hate Latinos, his idea of governing a country seems to be modeled on the old banana republic methods from Central and South America.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gud, I think facts needs to be in quotation marks in that quote.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I dropped my phone on the tile kitchen floor and shattered the glass. Now, it's a Moto G, and it's a little old and slow, and I think I paid $30 for it, so that doesn't fuss me too terribly. I can get a new one and not be sad.

But I'm going to have to start Neko Atsume all over again DAMN IT.

I am watching NerdHQ livestream from SDCC and it is a Chuck reunion (which I have never watched) but I am having cognitive dissonance - Adam Baldwin is being super charming and polite.
