Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

Today found me darkly muttering under my breath, "just burn it all down and salt the earth..." And that wasn't just referring to the RNC and white peoples.

I flat out refused to do something my boss told me too as it was a horrendous idea. Fallout tomorrow.

Good thing I was wearing a black skirt, because my damn period started stealthily and unexpectedly. And that, folks, was the high point of my day until I was able to swim uninterrupted.

Our wings are not tired.

Earth is grateful that you got your swim in. That was a close one!

When I walked in and saw it was a zoo, Alia, instructor/guard, took one look at me, said "Bad day?" And walked over, tightened the lane lines, plopped a swimming lesson sign in the furthest lane from the chaos and waved me over with an exaggerated flourish. I actually hugged her.

So be grateful for Alia.

The status is NOT quo.

It's a hot summer day and I'm not working on home improvement for once, so I thought it would be fun to play a game for a bit. I'd read that Brothers on PS4 (originally PS3) was beautiful and a puzzle game, so I thought, sure, sounds relaxing.

The whole damned game is about death. Starts with a kid dealing with the death of his mother; involves a beautiful epic quest with two brothers seeking a cure for their father's illness, and then THE OLDER BROTHER IS KILLED AND YOU HAVE TO BURY HIM and the game ends with the younger brother returning home to cure his father alone. Last scene? Father weeping on the double graves of mother and older brother while younger brother looks stoically off in the distance.

SERIOUSLY? I mean, yes, beautiful and poignant and real, but NOT A RELAXING SUMMER GAME.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

amych, ~ma for you.

Dude, I feel bad that the economy of West Virginia has been so tied to a dying industry that is not healthy, sustainable, or good business - maybe as their Rep. you could do something do develop other industries and retrain the workers.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And now Garry Marshall has died. I am building a Trump-style wall around Sondheim.
