Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh no, Steph, that's horrible.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Tim is having such a horrible year. He was diagnosed with RA, is having a hard time finding a treatment that helps, his doctor is concerned enough about his lung function that he has a pulmonary function test next week [yeah, that's a big ball of horribleness I haven't even mentioned because WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK]. Several people close to him have died this year. (Also our cat.) His dad's dementia is getting worse and we've started the process of moving him to assisted living. And now his co-worker has ALS.

I know 2016 is sucking for everyone, but this is ridiculous.

The night we got back from vacation, we were shuffling around putting things away, and he started crying hysterically. When he could explain what was wrong, he said it was because the dog didn't come running to greet us like he normally does when we've been on vacation, and the dog was kind of confused and stressed. (Because, yeah, Kato is almost 15. Watching him become elderly is HARD.)

It's like this whole damn year just all ran over in the fact that our dog is really old (because it wasn't just the dog, although yeah, he's really old).

And there's nothing I can do. I can't fix a single thing that's happened/is happening. What can I do if I can't fix things?

2017 had better be made entirely of unicorns and cake. And a Clinton presidency.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh Teppy, that is rough.

I also appreciate how no one is blaming Melania, cause we all know that she didn't write her speech.

While she didn't write the speech, if I was going to give a speech as the potential first lady I certainly would have listened to prior potential first lady speeches. Sounds like the Trump people are going to throw her under the bus as her words though.

You hug him hard. And let him hug you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, Steph, I'm sorry. You just hold on and walk through the shit together.

Oh Teppy, it was rough before reading the additional awfulness. I am so sorry that you both have so much going on right now. Hold each other tight.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

because the dog didn't come running to greet us like he normally does when we've been on vacation

It's so often that one last thing that pushes you past what you can handle at that moment.

How did we get to the point that Scott Baio is not only speaking at the RNC, but is interviewed on MSNBC the next day? OTOH, she's completely taking him apart about a sexist tweet he posted.

That's hit the point of absurdity for me. Like, did Kafka script this? WTF is Chachi doing speaking at the RNC?
