It was the head of hr, lawyer, who sent it!! I almost snopesed him, but then just got tired. I may still yet. And yes, it was the day of rage bullshit. I think it is incredibly dangerous and offensive to foster that kind of rumormongering, PLUS it's dogwhistle racism.

Uhguhguhg.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

OK folks, I feel like a privileged EEJIT right now, but maybe I'm not? I seriously JUST found out about the coup in Turkey. WTF? How is that not all over the news right now?

Our wings are not tired.

It has been all over MSNBC for quite some time. Sad because the prior story was how Trump was all on again off again on again about Pence.

Crazy night in Turkey for sure. They don't seem to know what is happening and how it is going to end.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I honestly believe that Warren is doing a far more important and effective job in the Senate than she could ever do as a Vice-President.

This. She is far too important a voice right where she is to be placed in a ceremonial/contingency position where she has to look to a superior before speaking her mind. I'd love the chance to vote for her as President in 2024, but I want her in the Senate making bank CEOs and GOP campaign managers chug Milk of Magnesia for the time being.

Coding and Sleeping

I think Tom Perez (current secretary of labor) would also make a good progressive choice. She could tap one of the Castro brothers too, but I'm not sure they're seasoned enough.

Yeah, somewhere along the line I picked up a journo in Turkey (refugee crisis? Ferguson? IDK) and it's bad-wild. And I always listen to PRI The World in the evenings, and they were on it, live, interviewing a western teacher there as sound she couldn't id provided a backdrop.

And I've got crazy Artscape here, protest 'walk', police choppers flying around broadcasting unintelligible messages, the damn HELLO-pop-goes-the-weasel ice cream truck, dumbass riot falsehoods, another probable acquittal of a cop in Freddie Gray's death, and I just...

I'm gonna clean my house this weekend, pet some goats and maybe visit the fringes of Artscape.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've got two friends who live in Turkey. Both of them happened to be in other places right now. Apparently the word for US citizens who are in Turkey right now is shelter in place.

Also have been meaning to note:I love the group of moms who have been picnicking at the Y at least once a week. They bring their kids, a ton of crabs and a couple empty pizza boxes. They set the kids loose in the playground and set out to pickin' crabs on the deconstructed boxes on the grass, and are always raucously laughing their asses off. It's such joy. Told 'em I liked their style this week & had a lovely passing conversation that ended with them telling me 'See ya next week!'
