I tell you what, combining Pokémon Go with an activity tracker is exceptionally satisfying. I rambled around campus during the day and my neighborhood in the evening hitting up Pokestops and catching Pokémon. Before I got home my tracker said I'd made my daily goal. And I leveled up. If the interest continues I might actually get into shape. Or get heat stroke. Possibly both.
Go team Valor!
Ugh. I am an idiot. I was supposed to teach ESOL at Refugee Resettlement today, but I accidentally set my alarm for 8 PM rather than 8 AM. That's the sort of excuse where I'd roll my eyes if one of my college students tried to use it.
@@ - sorry couldn't resist.
but I accidentally set my alarm for 8 PM rather than 8 AM.
I've been there.
In college I was once an hour late for a final because I was so tired I slept through my alarm clock buzzing for an hour. Fortunately, we had three hours to take the final and two hours was still plenty of time.
Ugh, you guys, I really just want to put my head on my desk. I was out late last night, and got to work this morning to discover I had double-booked myself for 9am. And then it went like that from there. I have seven meetings scheduled before 2:30 tomorrow. So I guess I'm going to skip the big fancy speaker who is coming to talk to our interns at 2:30.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I just realized I can push at least one of tomorrow's meetings to next week, so that's something.
And Tom, I finally got to your submission -- thanks! People who follow the Good Stuff, would you let me know if that kind of post shows up well? I posted it as a link, which makes the photo show up at least some of the time, but I'm not sure everyone will see it. (The story is about the Librarian of Congress.)
I love my son, I love my son, I love my son. He has been working down south for the last few weeks - going down on Tuesday, coming back on Friday. His room has never been...up to my standards, and my standards are not that high. But with him being gone 90% of the time, it has gotten worse. I told him a while back he needed to pick it up or I would. And that has been an empty threat until today. I just pulled 3 hampers full of dirty (I think) clothes and sheets out of him room. If it was on the floor, it went in a hamper. Load number 3 is in the washer and I still have 2 hampers full to go. Eventually I'll go back in for the obvious garbage.
I want the housekeepers to be able to vacuum and dust his room. We have two weeks to prepare. It may take that long. Dang, boy. WHY?
Happy birthday, Zenkitty! I have no cat pictures to bring. (pa rum pa pa pum) Sorry.
