If someone made a serious-sounding suicide threat and then didn't respond to attempts to contact her for hours, I'd call 911. Better safe than sorry. If Tim the maintenance guy has to replace a knocked-in door, he should've got the key.
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I think once this present crisis is over it's time to have a conversation with the landlord about Tim the Maintenance Guy.
Yeah, and that, for real.
Train songs: First comes to my mind is Waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Jesus, hoping that the train is on time, Sitting downtown in a railway station, one toke over the line...
Debit card compromised, blast and damn. Credit union notified me on a Sunday morning, so props to them for that, but damn it, now I'm without a debit card for however long it takes to get a new one. I hate carrying cash around.
Tommyrot, my best to you and Anna’s friend. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious.
What winery, btw? I am thinking of signing up for a Diva race at a Temecula winery...
Temecula has tons of great wineries, and we’ve done tastings at many of them. This time we were staying at Ponte, which is my favorite inn so far despite the obnoxious wedding party this morning at breakfast.
Calling a suicide hotline is definitely the right call. Any update?
Just so you know, shrift, you and Consuela have me on a cleaning/sorting/purging/want real furniture kick.
I admire the work you put into your home, sarameg. I clearly have been letting stuff accumulate and not dealing with things for years. Necessity is a good motivator.
I made another donation run today, so I think just about everything is out that's going out except for stuff that I'm still using, like the shower curtain. I say that, and yet I'm confident that I can fill another garbage bag or two before everything's done.
I need to start separating kitchen items and figuring out what's going with me on the plane.
I'm still waffling on a kitchen table and chairs:
I love that table.
Any update?
I think Anna's with her now, so we're ok for the moment. Hopefully Anna can persuade her to get treatment.
I think I need to go back to Room and Board tomorrow and sit on all their dining room chairs. Kinda like Goldilocks.
Best of luck to Anna. Rough times.
I got to hold a week-old baby for a couple hours (and conveniently handed her back to her mom juuuust before she had a blowout on both ends! Timing!). And then lunch with my friend's husband, but drama with some work stuff he's here for meant I dropped him off right after.
My lats/shoulders are killing me, between the pole class and the baby-holding! You would not think those two things have much in common.
