I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Timelies, all! I went for a run on a delightfully cool and non-humid (for NC in August) morning. The run itself was like dragging a wheelless sledge full of gravel behind me, but it happened. Then I walked the cat, gardened, and made compost tea. I feel like I earned my eggs and toast this morning. This afternoon I'm meeting a friend for Ant Man and then grocery shopping. For now I'm enjoying having my windows open. I'll have to shut them and crank the AC a few degrees from now, but the fresh air is nice while it lasts.

Welcome home, Sheryl and family!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Love those pulls, Consuela!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Nice pulls! Our pulls were the splurge when we redid the kitchen. I think I am not allowed to get sick of them.

I've got some of my medical records already, like immunizations. I was to download the last couple years of treatment online.

In other news, I paid rent on two apartments today. Now I need to gather a load of stuff to run over the donation drop.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Y'all. I ordered a tote bag from Evil Supply Co ( it's adorable)

Awww, Atticus does such a good job with things. Evil Supply Co. is a great company, and Atticus is a darling.

Yikes, Brenda!

I'm trying not to think too much about the cash I'm laying out for this kitchen. At least I'm getting to the point of being able to see results, like cabinets etc.

And, of course, none of the paint samples looks the way I expected them too. One of them was supposed to be a dark purply navy, and the other two bright dark royals. The lighter ones are too light and bright, and the purply one looks gray/black by comparison. Argh. Back to the paint store, I guess.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're slowly but surely putting together the stuff we need. We don't have a crib yet, but we do have a pack-n-play he can sleep in.

I've cleaned all but the two main rooms. With margarita. Not getting to the main rooms tonight.

Gotta rake the back tomorrow, and clean main rooms. And I really want to get a low dresser or sideboard to store linens in. So maybe IKEA. Maybe.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did go to Comic Con, and it was fun! I didn't see any famous people, but there were a lot of great costumes, and I bought a Captain America locket. I don't think my friend was able to get a lock of Hayley Atwell's hair to put in it, but I will survive.
