We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

How do you go from being the only finalist to not getting an offer?!

What she said! That's ludicrous!

ARGH.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Just requested a copy of the background check, if somehow that was connected. It may be that they got his previous salary information and realized they wouldn't be able to come close to it. It may be a religious issue (they are a religious organization and therefore allowed to use religion as a hiring criteria).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

At this rate, I expect the entire rest of the Hamilton cast to announce tomorrow that they're leaving. Or that they've extended their contracts past July 9...to the day before I see the show.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Dana, I'm sorry. That's completely mind-boggling.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Dana, boooooo!

Ugh, Strix. I know where you're at, and it sucks. But it is such a relief knowing everyone is safe, right?

Dana, Strix, a whole lotta sympathies your way.

I bought more paint. I took in the dried up quart with a label:mountain getaway. Vaguely remembered adding white to it when I did the massive patching a few years ago. Consulted with Ace guy-from Alabama!- went with one shade lighter on the card: white linen. A touch lighter, but the right base tones. I may still end up painting all the walls in the front room to freshen them up (after I do some more patching) but the upstairs? Naw. You really can't tell as I did the whole wall(s) so it just changes at the corner seam. Then I just need to redo the baseboard trim upstairs, install new ceiling trim by stairs, and finish my faux grate access panel.

I need another shower before bed. I'm sticky and itchy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I made it home.

I'm waiting for them to deliver my bag sometime tonight.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

See, I said delayed, not lost. Keep shirt hope alive!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They haven't delivered it yet, dammit.

Those are some fancy shirts!

Probably won't get it until tomorrow. If ever. Probably got stolen by sneaky shirt goblins.

I should be asleep, but the painting rush fucked me up. But did allow for me to chase down a squirrel: holy fucking shit, my workplace has raised $19k and counting for a member of housekeeping staff whose contract doesn't have really any leave benefits outside basic sick. He'll probably be out 4 months, this is huge. There's also an underground movement to get him hired main contract under facilities if his current company won't maintain his employment after his leave ends.

Which should be the plan for all staff, from tenured to housekeeping, but babysteps.
