we had big orange stickers to put on large trash items, and they read "TRASH / BASURA".

Which makes oodles of sense. If the Wet Floor placards can be multi-lingual, other stuff should be.

I have gotten way too comfortable with monoculturalism. I need to kick myself in the brain more and get out of my comfort zones. I'm still not eating a lengua burrito. I've picked up that much Spanish living here to know what the menu board is saying.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Em is heading into her last year of high school. It's crazy. Leif will be a sophomore.

There must be some kind of time warp happening. That shouldn't be possible.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Our trash stickers here are in English, Spanish, and Bosnian.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

They still haven't talked salary, but they're starting the background check, so. I asked if maybe he should bring it up, but his recruiter has advised against it.

Timelies all!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hi, Sheryl. How is the little guy feeling today?

Salary~ma, Dana! I hope the location is a pleasant one.

I got my official "we'll keep you another year" letter from HR, with a bit of a raise included. I'd prefer permanent and reasonably recompensed (wouldn't we all), but it beats a kick in the pants.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy that while running home to pay rent on my lunch hour I saw Sméagol (Molly's dad and my first friend among the alley cats) lounging underneath a jeep and got to pet and feed him. The neighbor's phone photo of the cat that got run over two weeks ago looked too light to be him, but not having seen it in person that worry was in the back of my mind until today.
