Thankfully my folks, my best friend, and I are all of one mind regarding the clap and sing thing. Embarrassment should be the result of funny insulting cards or gag gifts and quietly savored, not shouted to the heavens.

Also: hello, Pride, the annual weekend when all of my clothes get pulled out and placed on my bed and tried on and none of them manage to be QUITE what I want. Ugh.

So I'm looking at my tumblr and wondering where there are sooo many cat pictures (I follow derpycats but that's not that heavy volume) and I realize that Casper has been looking at my tumblr and has added all these cat feeds.

My own personal entry in "shit that people say kind of jokingly on FB but pisses me off nonetheless" is when people talk about Texas seceding. Or Mississippi. Or any of the South, as if it's one ignorant, monolithic, hillbilly block.

We've got a bunch of workarounds to try, still aren't sure exactly what changed the behavior, but suspect a hardware systems patch that *can't* be rolled back, (it doesn't even register in error logging, you just see symptoms ) but now we've got to come up with a whole new paradigm for operations, such that it will impact our hardware budget in drastic new ways (we're gonna need a whole lot more flavor b storage, which wasn't budgeted for) and it's all just very high level jesusfuckingchrist. And has big implications for JWST. And future development.

And the damn Tribble is still walkabout. Did I mention he needs surgery (perforated diaphragm, was probably hit by a car a long time ago) and shouldn't be allowed to exert himself much? And he DESTROYED the cushion on the cat shelf in a bid to break out the cat door and climb down the deck? Yeah, that. Sarah is less worried, he'd been outside and feral like that for a while before he moved in but I don't like cats going walkabout when I'm catsitting.

JFC, is Mahler always this long and tedious? Please send help. This concert will never end.

Yes, Mahler is often long. First year I sang in the chorus here, the women sang for about five minutes in the fifth movement of a Mahler symphony, and then the maestro made us stand through the whole sixth movement, which was about half an hour.
