Am I crazy, or is there no way to see the discussion here? [link]
From what I've seen in my years working on healthcare IT projects is the cost inefficiencies have very little to do with too many people doing a job that would be done better with fewer people. If that makes sense? A LOT of high healthcare costs stem from bad or non-existent processes.
I kind of feel like if there were efficient processes, I wouldn't actually have a job or be needed!
Steph, I am very happy with my computer glasses instead of bifocals, and it was way cheaper, since I got cheap frames to wear at my desk. (Everyone thinks they are practically identical to my Good Glasses, but of course I know the difference.) I'm not actually sure how bifocals would work for me, because I don't spend much time looking down and reading.

Whereas I spend a lot of time looking down and reading, so it's time to give in and get them.
I love my bifocals. There isn't really a line other people can see, so my glasses just look like regular glasses. But I can do things like read, thread needles, and other close work so much more easily now. They did take some getting used to, though.

Seconded. Though my adjustment period was extremely minimal.
The ophthalmologist told me to be very careful walking down stairs when I first get them, because if I look down through the close-up lens part, I could trip and die a humiliating death. (Okay, her recommendation stopped after the word "trip," but the rest was implied.)
Doctors try to avoid saying things about humiliating deaths. I think it's in the Hippocratic Oath Addenda.
Not my Awesome Doctor. He mocks me on the regular. (But I also mock him, so it's fair. If he didn't mock me, I'd have to stop seeing him. I can't wait to see what he says about my 2 months of IBS on Monday.)
ION, my company's developers are nerds (no shock). Apparently the secret code name for our next version is Vibranium.
