Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Yep. My instinct is to get a giant glass of ice water and go get him, but we've done this dance a few too many times.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh. Msbelle. I'm sorry that things aren't good today. Maybe the walk home will help him.

I do if he will open the freezer to look, but he tends not to look for things.

IAmNotAParent, but some boys just need to be very physical to get their brains to function properly. I've seen late teens/early 20s young men have to pick up a practice sword and whale on a target before they can think clearly. I saw Hubby hand a young man a sword and point him at a target, or a hammer and point him to a piece of metal that's being made into armor. Unfortunately, violent activity that involves hitting things is frowned on by many people. We had one young man show up to learn how to do SCA stuff and had an aptitude for the fighting and started showing real eagerness to learn the history, and it was helping distract him from his anger and restlessness. But his mother decided she didn't like him fighting in any form and pulled him out. It was sad.

Mom just found that ltc has a new tooth, which probably explains the tantruming lately.

Mac would probably like a fighting class for these brief moments when he is mad, but the rest of the time he would resent having to go and he would never practice.

Therapist confirmed he is just mad at status quo. Literally he thought that because he met the minimum expected rules for one week that they should be lifted. I laughed out loud.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If you're home and not watching CSPAN, I recommend you fix that. It is positively exhilarating seeing all these Reps from across the county getting up and speaking so passionately.

Ryan cut the cameras and the mikes on the podium but they're streaming from a Rep's iPad or something.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Thanks, Brenda. I'm always happy to see Dems displaying conviction.
