Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I did not know it was basketball this weekend, because people kept talking about Cavs, which makes me think of guinea pigs (also called Cavys). I am unfamiliar with the team. I didn't care enough to google or post. I can tell when it is pro hockey or football most of the time by the team names, though.

I'm thinking "but that would mean googling to find out what sport".

Which has me back to wondering why people are posting about something if they don't care about it enough to even google. If someone doesn't give a shit about "sportsball", why even bring it up? (This is different than a conversation in person, where I suppose you could just say, "I don't really follow sports -- which playoffs are happening right now?")

I made it about 30 seconds before wanting to punch them.

I really didn't mean to start the Great "Sportsball" Skirmish of '16.

I don' tknow I could see saying something like "we tried to go to X place to eat but it was packed, forget there was that big sports thing on."

I'm kind of apathetic to almost any sport except the specific things I'm interested in. My interest in hockey has waned and I'm really into Florida State University Football so I kinda keep up with College football but really any of the West Coast divisions.

I don't think I've ever used sportsball but I might say sports thing because there's something adjacent to the sporting event I want to reference but I don't care enough to figure out what it is.

Also I liked the video becasue I could see myself both in the "hey has long as they could get the ball in or cross the line" (if I watch something I don't have a vested interest in I root for who ever is on offense) and also the turning into an expert and over identifying with my team. "we lost" or "we wouldn't have lost if they had just done this or this".

For physicists, most animals can be assumed to be spherical and frictionless. It makes the math much easier.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm frequently the person who has no idea what sporting events are afoot and the person who is explaining the sports thing to someone who has no idea what I'm talking about, especially since hockey is not big in California. Like, using a team name means almost nothing to me if I don't follow the sport, so it doesn't help me figure out what sport even is being played.

I tend to use "sportsball" as an FYI, like if you see me flipping out like a mammal, it's because it's related to sports, so don't worry if you see me flailing or cursing or shit-posting for the next few hours.

If someone doesn't give a shit about "sportsball", why even bring it up?

"Sportsball" clogs my town's roads and parking lots on a regular basis, and I feel I should get to bitch about that without having to care what manifestation of sports (with or without balls) are in play at the time. If various collecting clubs--say, for stamps, quilts, salt-glazed pottery, and My Little Ponies--had regularly scheduled events that affected my life in the same way, I'd probably cuss about "collecter-folk" on whatever social media I was on and not much care which group was making me give up on getting a table at a local restaurant that night.

Huh. It is just me.

I didn't intend to get salty about this (which doesn't matter), and I'm sorry I was so rude about the use of that term (which I hope counts for something) (being sorry, I mean). I'll keep it to myself.
