I have done the look-back and next year's goals part of my review, now I have to do my development plan. I don't want to work on any areas next year! Fuuuuck.
I don't suppose they'd react well to "Next year's goals: Get a great new job somewhere else," would they?
That would be amazing, though.
I wonder if there are some steps in mental preparation for a job search that you could parlay into development goals - deveoping networking mojo, polishing up some marketable skill that could make you more well-rounded as a candidate, something...
Yikes, shrift. I hope the mindfulness helps!
I should have meditated this morning, because people are complaining all over the place about how I haven't answered their goddamn tickets. I have four more days to answer your stupid ticket, junior employee. Don't start with me.
Sort of related to the FB discussion from yesterday, someone I have blocked because she only posts about the skincare products she sells DM'd me to see if I knew people she could recruit.
I used to put a future goal was to retire. Not received well.
We aren't allowed to have future goals anymore other than our job description
OMG I would love that. I have no interest in advancement in this company. I am not bonus eligible and have no ambition.
I'm buying my ticket to New York for mid-July -- shouldn't have waited this long, but with the uncertainty about husband's job, it's delayed us. Even right now, I'm just buying a ticket for me, and he'll either go to NY or not depending on whether he starts a job around then. So now I'm playing airport merry-go-round, trying to figure out what's cheap. My mom did remind me about JetBlue, which I've never flown because it only has a direct flight from Houston to NY.
Last week we were asked to submit a paragraph on our career goals here in the company. I've been trying to shift into another department directly related to tech support for three years, I'm not sanguine about my ability to develop my career. But I wouldn't mind retiring from here (only another ten years or so! I'm old!)
